How Claire Transitioned From Feeling Overwhelmed As A New Manager to Being A Confident And Empathetic Leader With Improved Self-Awareness.

Why did Claire decide to coach with Alex?
Claire started her coaching journey with Alex as a new manager, she felt overwhelmed without structure, frameworks and guidelines available to learn within the company. Claire was looking for a coach with experience to provide tools and resources to handle challenging situations effectively.
"I did feel like I was drowning a bit, finding a lot of situations quite daunting. It was really nice to have someone with good experience to give me tools and resources."
Claire chose Alex because she resonated with her approach and believed Alex would challenge her in ways necessary for her growth. She appreciated Alex's ability to address uncomfortable issues and help her feel more confident and move away from feeling like an imposter.

"I knew that Alex would challenge me a bit more and make me address things that might be slightly uncomfortable but necessary for my growth and development."
What did Claire take away?
Claire found immense value in the support and self-awareness she gained during the coaching sessions. She discovered what was holding her back and learned how to address it.
The different tools and approaches, especially time management techniques, were incredibly helpful for her.
"The self-awareness I have now is a big thing. I can catch myself out when I'm thinking certain things or having certain reactions."
Claire also became more aware of her strengths, which she hadn't considered or identified before. Recognising and utilising these strengths became a natural part of her development, helping her to feel more confident and capable.

"I realised I have good things that come naturally to me, and I can take advantage of them. That has been helpful."

"My empathy has grown. I can sit back and think about others' thought processes and what they're going through."
What does life look like now?
Before Claire felt she was responsible for every negative outcome or situation, and it was weighing her down.
Claire has now stopped blaming herself for everything and learned to be kinder to herself. She values her time more, sets boundaries, and practices time boxing to manage her tasks efficiently.
"Not blaming myself for everything and being kinder to myself sounds simple, but it’s changed a lot for me."
Claire has grown in empathy, understanding others' perspectives better, and uses the situational leadership model to adjust her approach to different team members' needs.
